    Dr. Elizabeth Viveiros is an accomplished educational leader with over a decade of experience in primary and secondary education administration and over two decades of experience in public education. With a comprehensive skill set spanning educational leadership, curriculum implementation, educational assessment, data analysis, budget planning, specialized instruction, grant writing, and social-emotional learning, Dr. Viveiros has consistently demonstrated her ability to drive positive change in educational settings.

     

    Throughout her tenure at the Portsmouth School Department, Dr. Viveiros has held pivotal roles, including Deputy Superintendent, MTSS Coordinator, and Elementary Principal. In her current position as Deputy Superintendent, she collaborates with various stakeholders to shape the instructional program's philosophy, goals, and policies. Her responsibilities include overseeing curriculum development, coordinating professional development initiatives, and ensuring compliance with state assessments and regulations. As the MTSS Coordinator, Dr. Viveiros played a crucial role in implementing and sustaining a district-wide Multi-Tiered System of Supports Framework. She facilitated the development of a comprehensive vision plan for academic and behavioral interventions, fostering collaboration with external partners to enhance student support services.

     

    Prior to her administrative roles, Dr. Viveiros served as the Melville Elementary School Principal, where she fostered a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations for both students and teachers. Her experience also extends to teaching second grade and both elementary and middle school special education, where she developed expertise in individualized educational programs and inclusive teaching practices.

     

    Dr. Viveiros holds a Doctor of Education degree focused on Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision from Northeastern University. Her commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is evident in her continued involvement as a university lecturer and active participation in district-wide professional learning communities.

     

    With a solid foundation in education and a passion for empowering both students and educators, Dr. Elizabeth Viveiros exemplifies strong leadership and a dedication to educational excellence.

    Responsible for ensuring that all Portsmouth schools take the necessary steps to implement and sustain a district-wide MTSS Framework.

    Responsible for the development of a district vision plan for the implementation of academic and behavioral interventions. This work was done in a collaborative partnership with MTSS BRIDGE-RI and The Public Sector Consortium: Leaders and Partnerships for the Public Good.

    Ensuring that the district's instructional framework includes a universal screening of all students, multiple tiers of instruction and support services, and an integrated data collection and assessment system to inform decisions at each tier of instruction.

    Organizing the implementation of school teams and facilitating the teams' work.

    Manage the communication protocols between the district and school teams.

    Provide implementation support for all four schools.

    Develop teacher knowledge in the implementation of best practices in the areas of intervention and social-emotional learning.

    Coach the district's implementation teams' development of a framework for MTSS that encompasses best practices and data-driven decision-making.

    Design, develop and manage a comprehensive district website that clearly explains our district MTSS model.
